The Institute

The International Institute for Subjective Experience and Research (ISER) - Arts and Health is active in the areas of health promotion and art, perceptual and sensory research and aesthetics as well as organizational development. The central idea of the Institute for Subjective Experience and Research (ISER) – Arts and Health's work is the conviction that aesthetics and art are substantial elements of a social coexistence, which promote the health of individuals, support creative and innovative processes in society and help to solve social conflicts. The focal point of the insitute's research practice are human beings, their potential and the ever changing factors influencing their perception and actions in social interactions. For this reason the institute's research practice places its focus on subjective experiences, which complement objective epistemological approaches.
The institute is supported by a circle of associates from NGOs, such as the S.E.R. Foundation (Foundation for Subjective Experience and Research), which attained Consultancy Status as an NGO at the United Nations (ECOSOC) in 2003 and Special Consultancy Status in 2008 as well as being associated with the UN Department of Public Information. Universities such as the Medical School Hamburg or the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee (Switzerland) are also cooperation partners of the institute. More …
